Title: Senior Cloud Software Developer
Location: Columbia, MD area
Clearance: TS/SCI Full Scope Poly
Job Summary: Serve as the cloud development technical lead on a small team. Responsibilities include assisting in the migration of an existing analytical toolset from a standard Oracle database model to a cloud architecture. Long term focus will be on the development of new temporal and spatial analytics applied to large data sets in a cloud architecture. User interfaces will be designed and developed to present and visualize the results of the analytical outputs
Responsibilities:
• Contribute across the entire development for geospatial analytics: analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and some production support
• Work with clients to clarify requirements and ensure that project design meets clients business and technical requirements.
• Responsible for the maintenance of technical documentation as well as written reporting. Adhere to SDLC policies and procedures including source code control.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience
• Strong functional knowledge of Java or C++ is required
• Working knowledge of Linux required
• Experience with project development / methodologies experience preferred: full system development lifecycle, Agile, Scrum, etc.
• UI development and simple web experience
• Strong problem solving skills and an eagerness to learn new programming techniques, and application domains
• Previous senior-level experience in designing and developing complex systems
• Previous experience working onsite at a customer location in a consulting capacity is preferred
• Experience in distributed programming using the Hadoop framework desired
• UI Development experience with the Ozone Widget Framework a plus
• Familiarity with development tools such as: Maven, Eclipse, Ant
Education:
A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
