Senior Software Developer Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA Clearance: TS/SCI
Description We are looking for a Software Developer to work in an agile and fast paced development environment supporting analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems. The developer will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with analysts and other technologist to ensure applications and tools meet the needs of the customer.
Responsibilities: • Development and implementation of analytical models • Web application development for search and discovery • Automatically retrieving and ingesting data • Maintenance and enhancement of existing custom applications
Experience: • minimum of 2 years experience in design and implementation of classified web applications • minimum of 2 years experience in scripting (preferably Perl or Python). • Experience with modern high level programming language: C#, C++, Java or Visual Basic. • 10 plus years programming experience preferred.
Computer Environment: • Experience in web development: HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash/Flex, Silverlight, and DHTML desired. • Experience in with SQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), or SQL Server (T-SQL) desired. • Experience with IC analysis tools (e.g., iBase/Analyst’s Notebook, Palantir, etc.) desired. • Experience with Hadoop and MapReduce desired. • Experience with ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server (SDE), etc.) desired. • Experience with geospatial data and the development of geospatially based analytical models desired. • Experience with text processing: natural language processing (NLP), named entity recognition (NER), entity disambiguation, entity extraction, part-of-speech (POS) tagging, searching (e.g., Lucene), topic extraction, summarization, clustering, etc. desired.
Additional Skills: Must be comfortable about deployment from time to time. Must be motivated, self driven team player who can interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on software development related issues
Travel Requirement: Must be willing to deploy OCONUS on occasional trips. Estimated length and occurrence of trips are 3 to 4 months every year and half to two years.
Education: B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or related field is preferred.
